Letter from the Director

Dear Residents,

On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I would like to extend our sincere gratitude to everyone who voted to support the Library budget on April 5. I am pleased to announce that the budget passed by a vote of 143 to 22. We appreciate your confidence as we strive to meet the needs of the community and provide you with the best possible library service.

I would also like to thank you for electing returning Library Trustees Dana Lynch, Gayle Quaglia, and George Schwertl. Trustees play a key role in making the policy, personnel, and fiscal decisions that help keep the Library moving in a positive direction, and our Library Board works diligently to constantly improve the level of service we offer.

The residents of Cold Spring Harbor have continually demonstrated their commitment to the Library. With the passing of the 2016-17 budget, we will be able to continue offering entertaining and educational programs, a high-quality collection of books, eBooks, DVDs, and other materials, and a wide variety of resources for all ages.

As the warm weather arrives and the school year winds down, everyone will start thinking about summer. Our Children’s Summer Reading Club will begin with our Summerfest Kickoff on Thursday, June 23 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. (Rain date: Friday, June 24). Come to the Library and enjoy all the fun activities! We’ll have a bounce house, petting zoo, obstacle course, and much more. We’re also starting a new All-Stars Reading Club for pre-readers ages 2 and up!

Once again, thank you for your commitment and support of the Library.

Sincerely,
Dr. Roger Podell
