Youth Services

The Youth Services Department is committed to serving the community as a family literacy center. Our fiction and non-fiction book collections include selections for all levels of reading skills.  Our Parent Collection incorporates family issue and parental interest materials. The Youth Services Department offers family-friendly audio books, magazines, music, and DVDs as well as access to computers for homework and educational game use.

We also offer a wide variety of dynamic, educational programs that are designed to encourage children’s creativity and enhance their love of reading.

Our friendly and knowledgeable Children’s Department staff is eager to assist you with your informational needs.  Don’t know what to read?  Our experienced staff will recommend quality authors and literature for your enjoyment.  Come visit today!

Summer Reading Club Round-up

Congratulations to all our summer reading club participants!
Everyone had a great time reading and earning tokens.. to date children read 3,779 hours and 3,097 books!

Our End of the Summer Show performed by the National Circus Project was a huge hit!

“Make a Splash…Read @ Your Library” -For independent readers through Grade 6.
“Little Minnows” Read to me Club – For pre-readers.

Sign up begins June 28 and is ongoing  throughout the summer.

Join us for our 2010 Summer Reading Club Kick-Off Ice Cream Social on June 28 from 3:00 – 7:00 pm. Build your own sundae with toppings of you choice, and register for the Make a Splash Summer Reading Club. Every child that registers will receive a FREE book of their choice to kick-off their reading.
